~Rune’s Profile~

Rune hummed to himself as he stepped along the path. His feet felt as light as his heart. He was utterly content with his life here on Haurah. He had his sister back again, all his prospects for the future were open, and nothing could stand in his way. It was definitely time to celebrate!

He skipped around a corner and drew nearer to one of the popular evening hour gathering spots. This particular gathering square was large enough to hold several Murrah, brightly lit, with a cook tent nearby and a make-shift stage in the open air for performers. The night was not exactly clear and speckled with stars, as it would be in the perfect romance story, but it was warm enough and not raining at least. He fully expected a good turn out of the local young bucks and does, out looking for good food and good company. Rune, himself, hoped to see at least one of the few Murrah he’d managed to make friends with in his short time on Haurah. If not, that was fine, too. He was always happy to make more acquaintances. Especially of the lovely female variety.

Rune nearly chuckled to himself as he entered the square. It didn’t look like too many people were around yet, though he spotted a few performers looking like they were getting ready to set up their various instruments. Rune wandered over to the cook tent to grab a glass of a sweet nectar made from one of the Hauran fruits. The locals called it khola. It had kind of a bitter sweet kick to it and was a popular beverage.

Drink in hand, he wandered over to a set of benches to take a seat and wait, observing the various few Murrah currently running about the square.

- Lelane's Profile -

In a crowded mess like Solace, it was hard for a female to feel much like a lady. There was dirt and work everywhere, and rarely any time--or room, for that matter--for fun.
Which was why the makeshift gathering squares were like little pieces of paradise, settled glitteringly in the middle of grungy monotony.

Lelane was out, and looking for fun.
It was her favorite, much-neglected, pastime.

The square was mostly empty, as it usually was most nights, which surprised her for the pleasant weather. Though, with so many males either already on, or getting ready to set off for, a hunt...she supposed she wasn't all that surprised.

It was surely disappointing though.
She was in a good mood.

The graceful russet creature wound her way quickly through the scattered Murrah that were about, and headed right for the area that held the performers and their instruments. If there was to be music here, then this was where she wanted to be.

Shedding her recent title as a Trapper for now, Lelane reached back to her performing roots, shaking out the waves of her warm flame-colored fur and smiling to herself. In minutes the music would start, and she would be happy.

The prospect of rhythm soon to be beating through the air had all of her attention. So much so, that she ignored the other Murrah nearby and took an eager seat on the ground, near to the performers. Curling her fluffy tail about her daintily as she lowered herself to the ground, she would sit as a pretty picture, until the music began.

When the firey Highland doe glided into the square, Rune immediately sat up. He’d been lounging in his chair, trying not to be too impatient for people to show up, and focused on relaxing instead. However, his heart skipped a little beat when the lovely Murrah entered.

He watched her step lightly over to the musicians stage and sit herself down lightly on the ground. She shook her fur with a little sway that caused Rune’s ears to perk up a little more. She had to have been one of the most graceful Murrah Rune had yet seen. Every movement she made was lithe and subtle, creating a most tantalizing picture before him.

She apparently hadn’t notice him at all, or else was ignoring him. Rune hoped it was the former. Might as well say hello, he thought to himself.

He stood up slowly, stretching just a little, deciding how best to approach her. He walked over, trying to make at least some noise so he wouldn’t startle her.

“Heyla,” he said brightly. “Glad to see someone else out and about. Mind if I sit down?”

((Thank ya! cheesy ))

---------------------------------------------

Warm golden eyes flicked up to meet his, and paused there for a moment. Such a catching sight were those eyes of his...pale blue on icy white.
Curious, she took the next moment to briefly look over the rest of him, and take in his interesting mix of cool blue and brilliant gold.
And those blue freckles that made their way onto the scales of his face? Cute.

Only then did she meet his eyes again...and smile.

"Hello there, and not at all. Please sit."

She made a move to shimmy over a little bit to allow him to sit, even though there was obviously already enough room.

"...Are you waiting for the music too, then?"

She smiled sweetly, though her eyes shone too brightly. As she waited for him to take a seat beside her, she naturally held a straight and balanced posture. The form of a dancer, waiting their turn.

“Thanks,” Rune said genially, and eased himself down on the ground next to the doe. “I’m more or less waiting for anything to happen. Music, company…” He let his eyes settle on hers and smiled. Anything, really. I’m easy,” he said with a laugh as he settled his lanky body into a comfortable lounging position.

“My name is Rune,” he said by a simple way of introduction. “I’m guessing you’re a fan of music? I don’t imagine it will take them too much longer to start.” He waved in the general direction of the stage, where indeed, it appeared the musicians were nearly ready to begin.

“Now all we need are more Murrah to show up, so we can have a real party!” His eyes twinkled in good humor, probably betraying the stray thought that he’d still be happy if it was just him and this lovely russet doe here the whole evening.

"Lelane." She replied simply, smile still glimmering cleverly in her eyes.

As for other Murrah showing up, she gave a little shrug.

"It's been slow lately, with so many going off on hunting trips and whatnot. So much work going on."
The word was said with a disdainful sigh. She was considered one of the hunters, the trappers being a vital part of the 'team', often being dragged along into the wilderness at inconvenient times.
The whole thing was really quite wearying to think about.

Perking herself up once more, she nodded toward the several large instruments being arranged on the stage. An assortment of drums, each decorated in the symbolic designs of several different clans, gathered the majority of her attention.

"Though, as long as there are drums, I will be quite happy. Other Murrah or not."

The anticipation in her voice was a palpable thing. An excited creature, crouched and waiting to play.

Kalica's Profile

~

Energy. Light. Laughter. Drink.

These were the things Kalica had come to find in the square, and thus far he'd been a bit disappointed. There were drinks--but they were sweet, and placid. It wasn't dark enough for the lights yet. There were shuttered voices and secluded laughter among the tiny clusters of Murrah, but there wasn't the energy a good party should have.

Kalica wasn't much aware of the hunts and the work that kept much of the Murrah away from an evening of revelry. Well--not that he wasn't aware of them. After all, one his own bondmates had been fretting about one of the hunts earlier, and Kalica had been harnessed into plenty of work since he'd arrived. But he liked to forget about that sort of thing when it was time for pleasure.

Kalica moved through the smattered crowd like a window shopper, peering into groups, smiling here, eyeing a doe there and returning the glare of her buck--but he couldn't seem to find a place to be.

That was until he saw the fire colored Highland doe, anyway. He paused a moment fairly close to the resplendent pair, listened, gathered that they were not together, and stepped up to the stage beside them.

"If you don't mind my asking," he said, not really caring at all and with both eyes on Lelane, "do you know when they start the music? You look like you're waiting for it."

Puriel's Bio - Lahatiel's Bio

Even without the proper 'atmosphere' of a party, the pair of flame colored Highland bucks seemed to be enjoying themselves. They roamed about, weaving into one another at random intervals, generally amused by that and everything else it seemed.

The more slender of the two - if slender was a word that could apply to Highlands - seemed to instigate most of the jabs. Though throwing himself at his larger companion didn't seem to do much at all except amuse him, when the favor was returned the poor thin one was nearly barrelled over. This of course only served to amuse them both even more.

"Where's the food!? I'm hungry," the big one grunted, scanning the area.

"Puriel!" the slender male threw himself at Puriel again, knocking him a bare half-step off balance, "You are always hungry! But ooh yes, I'm hungry too! Where's the food!?"

"Where's the music!?" Puriel questioned loudly, stamping his hoof into the ground. "This is hardly a party at all. Lahatiel, you said this was a party," he snorted, giving Lahatiel a little bump in return.

"Uwah!" Lahatiel couldn't catch himself in time and went tumbling in a heap of yellow streaked red fur, all shaking with laughter. "Meanie!" he exclaimed, jabbing at Puriel's thick legs in retaliation.

A half-grin snuck onto Rune's face at Lelane's obvious eagerness.

"You're a dancer, then? You obviously have the grace of an Artist." Rune dropped the compliment as easily as he might have dropped a smile, which is something he did often and with ease. Such as now.

Their pleasant conversation was interrupted, however, by the arrival of an unusual colored stag. He wore all different stripes of colors and had pale blue eyes that looked past Rune entirely and focused solely on Lelaine. He spoke to the doe, ignoring Rune for all as if he weren't there at all. Rune flattened his ears slightly but smiled slightly in sarcastic amusement.

"Welcome, Friend," he said to the newcommer, emphasizing the word and reminding him of his presence. This new stag was obviously someone who appreciated a good party and a pretty doe, which Rune himself related to, so he felt no hard feelings. As long as the painted buck did not contuinue to brush him aside as a nonexistant presence, that is. He flicked his tail once and kept his light smile firmly in place. "Glad to see more Murrah arriving at last." He nodded, truthful in his words, though he would feel some regret, likely, if Lelaine picked this new fellow over himself. Ah well, that was her choice, and he'd lose no sleep over it, as his guardian would say.

And just then, as if they were tired of the dreadful silence of the square, the drums beat out their first notes, and the music finally began. Rune smiled brightly at Lelaine and stood up, offering a hoof to her to help her up as well, though he was certain she didn't need it.

~Sariya's Profile~

Sariya sat quietly on her bench, one leg crossed over the other and both elbows slung over the back of the bench behind her. She was grateful for chance to be out and enjoy a night of entertainment that for once she was not responsible for providing. She hoped there would be someone decent about to socialize with. It seemed harder than it ought to be to find Murrah worthy of being good friends in Solace. Not that Sariya had had much experience in knowing how to make friends, which could possibly be the reason she wasn't putting herself out there now.

She'd actually been sitting on her bench for a while now, content with just observing for now the fellow Murrah who meandered about the square. There were only a couple she recognized from being regulars to social events like these, but none she particularly cared to address herself to. She maintained her cool composure, waiting for something interesting to happen.

Interesting finally came in the form of two Highland stags who looked alike enough to be brothers, though one was a bit more slender and multi-colored than the other. She'd been watching them wander about the square, and they had gradually been moving closer to her position. One of them... the bigger one... complained loudly about the lack of food and music, and then casually shoved the other who promptly found himself in a puddle of fur on the ground not too far from her feet. Apparently this was hilarious. Sariya did not move so much as to give an impression of raising an eyebrow and one corner of her mouth.

"The food is just over there, in the cook tent, obviously." She casually raised a hoof to indicate the direction, in case the pair still couldn't find their way. It would be interesting to see if they managed to make it all the way over there on their own. Her eyes glinted a little in amusement as she tried to guess how many more times the slender Highlander would find himself on the ground between here and there. A true smile broke her face then as she pictured the scene in her head. She kept her eyes on the pair, smile still on her face, and waited to see what they would do next.

Before the music had even begun, she could feel that wonderful thrum of playful energy flutter up into her chest. Perhaps it was due to the arrival of another pretty buck--a bold one at that--but she had little time to play with this fact in her head before the music started.

Deep drum beats, the kind that struck to the core, like a great second heartbeat.

She daintily took Rune's hoof to stand, but turned with a smile to Kalica. She spoke to him as an answer to both of them. Measuring out her shared attention carefully.

"I live for music. Did a little dancing in my time on Pelmei."

As if to elaborate on that very fact, she did a few little stretches, still fully aware of the fact that she was still in the presence of others. A buck on either side of her, in fact.

After her legs and back felt confidently limber, she looked between the two bucks, her gleaming eyes innocently-wide.

"...Do either of you like to dance?"

Of course, she cared very little whether they did or not. Having an audience was just as good as having a partner. She was more interested in what they would answer, and how. The whole game of the situation just pleased her to pieces.

Kalica turned his eyes quickly to Rune, as if just noticing him when he spoke. He kept a smile on, but his eyes changed. He didn't like the way this flashy buck used the word friend--or, perhaps, he did. There was a degree of challenge to it. And Kalica was always up for a challenge.

When the drum beat its first pulse through the evening, Kalica stood a little straighter, his eyes leaping to the musicians for a moment. In that moment, Rune extended his hoof to Lelane and helped her up, and Kalica turned back a bit disappointed, though he did appreciate Lelane's little stretching performance.

But at Lelane's question, he smiled again. "It would be rude to interfere," he said with a tilt of his head and a gleam behind his pale eyes. "But I always have loved a good dance. And you look like quite the dancer."

She looked like quite a lot of things that Kalica thought it best not to start a conversation with.

"Ah, right," Puriel responded to the female, though his eyes were already wandering in that direction. "Thank ya," he grinned, enthusiastic at the prospect of food.

He took one step toward the food - coincidentally stepping on Lahatiel's tail - then stopped and looked back at her. "Do ya want anything?" he offered.

Lahatiel was of course yelping and wailing, tugging helplessly on his tail as his larger friend's hoof was firmly planted upon it. He struggled and kicked, wriggling about and no doubt only making the pain worse for his efforts. Puriel didn't torment his smaller buddy long though, it just wasn't nice, shifting his weight onto the other hoof so Lahatiel could tug and strain and finally tumble free.

"You!" Lahatiel protested, giving Puriel's leg a swift kick and trying to get his hooves under him. Once he was off the ground, he threw himself against his friend's side and tugged him toward the cooking tent, "I'm hungry! Feed me!"

"Feed you? Feed me!" Puriel laughed, giving the female a quick motion with his hoof, something like the start of a wave, as he pretended that Lahatiel was actually getting somewhere in dragging him.

http://murrah.conforums.com/index.cgi?board=charactersrp&action=display&num=1204580352

It was dusk in the Solace Camps and Minerva had managed to escape from her 'handler' this evening. Aimlessly, she wandered with a bright smile on her face as she looked over all the other murrah bustling with activity. She took no notice to what they were doing except to see whether it looked like fun before wandering off to the next sight.

The delicious smells coming from the Food tent was enough to draw her towards the gathering of murrah. The sounds of laughter and the music beginning to fill the air made it all the more irresistable. Her senses swam with the beating of the drums; she imagined they were the beating of her heart, all one and the same. Nothing existed but her and the moment. Closing her gold and green flaked eyes, she swayed to the beautiful music even as she continued to move in closer.

Laughter to her right made her pause, broke her trance, and her body flinched involuntarily at the louud, intrusive sound. Her hind end bumped into a chair when she backed away from two rough housing Highlands. She watched them for a moment, unsure whether to be fearful of the big males or amused at their behavior. *Pretty tails,* she thought to herself and was overcome with the need to pet their waving reddish golden strands.

Even as she reached out to touch one of the Highlands, her fear quite forgotten, she was instantly destracted by several shiney somethings in another direction. A blue female murrah that made Minerva think of cascading water was wearing several bright gold bands and rings that glittered in the fire light. Boldly, wearing the curiosity and excitement of a fawn, she walked over to the female and petted her gosssamer sleeves. "So pretty," she said aloud and purred. More directly to the female murrah this time, she smiled and tilted her head, "You have lovely beads."

To those that didn't know any better, one might think Minerva was a very happy and intoxicated murrah. Too thin for her size but freshly groomed by one of the matron murrah who took care of the fawns, she appeared to be a healthy female having a fun night in the camps. Unless they were paying close attention, it was rare that anyone would suspect the white and green female was not quite right.

Rune tried his best to be a gentleman and not watch Lelane's languid stretches, but... ah well. He was a young stag, after all, and could hardly be blamed for watching. Especially as the doe was obviously performing for their pleasure. Rune briefly wondered if she were the type who always felt the need to put on an act for her audience. Something to think on later, probably, as now she was asking them if they cared to dance. The striped stag gave a smooth half-answer which Lelane could probably take either way. Rune chose to be a bit more direct.

"Every chance I get," he replied with a generous smile. "Shall we?" He waved an arm to the side to allow her to take the lead. He would follow where she willed. He glanced at the other stag to gague if he would join in as well. Probably he would. He didn't seem the type to back down easily.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Sariya nodded politely to the tall Highlander. Never let anyone say she couldn't be polite when she wanted to be. But she was a little taken aback at his offer to bring her something. That could be amusing.

"If it's not too much trouble, that would be nice. Just... surprise me." She grinned up at him, more curious than she could say to see what he would chose to bring back for her. She glanced down at the more slender Highlander who finally managed to wiggle his tail free, but gave him little notice as he tried to persuade his companion to move.

She began to lift a hoof to return the Highlander's wave, but was suddenly surprised to find a hand on her sleeve and a new voice speaking to her. She turned to find a splotchy doe standing a little too close for comfort.

"Ah... thanks," she replied to the doe, who had obviously been enjoying herself a little too much already. She couldn't help but scoot a couple of inches away from the grasping hooves. She flattened her ears a little, trying not to give the doe any encouragement.
